Thanksgiving!

I finally hosted my first holiday. Yes, I have had holidays/events at my other homes but this time I planned a sit down dinner. I planned the meal, co-ordinated the food, invited all our guests and entertained just the way I have always imagined. I felt as if the baton of authority was being officially handed to me by Pauline. Mike and I are the next generation to be in charge and this felt strange. I was so excited, scared yet I had a tinge of sadness at the circle of life. Pauline is a great example to me. I was espcially grateful for her on this day. She is the oldest in-law of Mike's family and has taken me under her "mennonite" wings.
Our guest list included: Pauline & Aden, Reggie, Jenette & thier 3 kids, Chad, June & their 2 kids, June's Dad Ben (Reuben's brother who resides in Alabama), Reuben & Kathy, Mike, Me and our 3 girls.

We gave Thanks the night before thanksgiving. That day, I also helped throw Abbey's school party. We decided to do the traditional meal. I also made the mashed potatoes for our family dinner. Yes, I had a crazy busy week but actually enjoyed every minute of it.
Afterwards, my kids ran up to me and begged for Kenzie to spend the night. So surreal, I had flash backs, total out-of-body feeling. Here I am the grown up and my kids are the ones wanting to have sleep-overs with their cousins. Exactly like, Ryan, Heather ane me. Of course, I willingly obliged the impromtu playdate. All the more gladly because my girls only have a few short months to spend with Kenz before they move to Canada.
The only unfortunate happening was the absence of Jenette, Mason & Lilly. They missed out due to the kids sickness. I was dissapointed yet completely understoond!
I have to admit, it was one of my most favorite holidays ever. Seriously. My company was so relaxed and fun. They were so grateful for everything. Even our dessert was satisfying.
All in all our family had a great holiday weekend, I'll recap the rest of our events shortly.
(Of course, we are still adding the final decorations to our house. In one photo my entry hall is missing it's mirror).

I loved our sleep overs!! That was the best thing about the holidays. The pictures are wonderful, and everything is just beautiful. Hope you are all doing well.
