Now, I had wanted to post the pre-program rules last week but was simply to busy. Yesterday was to be our kick-off into Spring Reading. But again!!, better late than never:) And our CLUB button will have to do. Also for the sake of time. (What's new?) Cute though, so far. Don't ya think??
What's the point? Mainly to broaden our scope of reading. To find more good reads. TO challenge ourselves for a personal goal. Quantity or Quality. Use this simply as time limit to read the books sitting on our nightstands that we just haven't been able to get to. Or as in my case, a push to complete those pesky books we just keep putting down and losing track of. And maybe a place to feel like we belong. . .
SO here goes nothin. THere are a few simple Rules and I'll leave until Tuesday/Wednesday for you to compile your list.
1)We are reading for fun. ANd to challenge ourselves. No fighting:)
2)In the next few days compile a your list of books. You can categorize them for us if you want to.
3)When you have finished publish them in a post.
4)Wednesday is our deadline. HEad over to my blog and leave a link to your post on the bottom of my post from that day. I'll have a linky set up.
5)Make sure we can link back to your specific book list and not your blog in general because our challenge goes till the end of summer.
6)After you have read each book you can leave a review for us on your blog if you'd like. "Family friendly please". (THis may be helpful for some of us.)
7)You can change your books if you'd like during the challenge. I want this to be for fun!
8)If you'd like to be in the challenge you can sport your very own 'Spring Reading button'. I'll have the link to that by wednesday as well. That way others can just push the button to arrive on our Wednesday's list of lists.
9)If you have any better ideas for our book club name, Please, leave me a comment.
10)Lastly, (Cause you knew I had to post 10) At the end of the challenge whomever participated in our club and was able to complete their challenge will be entered into my "grand-prize" the only prize:) drawing!! For a. . .
wait here it comes.....
wait for it.....
w.a.i.t......
A GIFT CERTIFICATE TO AMAZON!!! WHoo-Hoo!
I always rile myself up:)
Ps. I thought of more motiviation. Lists we want to read to our children. Books we've been meaning to get from the library or new reads from others. Use this as a jump start to rev up the time/material we spend reading to them:)
Happy Hunting!!!

Ok, so I am a little confused. Are we supposed to post our reading list here - as a comment? Here is my reading list for the summer (or is this just for spirng?) Do I need to have a blog do be in?
*The Autobiography of Malcolm X
*Brother to a Dragonfly (Will D. Campbell)
*Justification: God's Plan and Paul's Vision (NT Wright)- a response to John Piper's critique
*Farewell to God: My Reasons for Rejecting the Christian Faith (Charles Templeton)
*Overcoming Evil Gods Way: The Biblical and Historical Case for Nonresistance (Stephen Russell - a Mennonite!)
*Curious George Goes Fishing
Ryan
I tried explaining what I understand to Ryan so I think he is just going to use my blog to post his list.
My question is: can we put books that we have started in the past and now want to finish?...or is that cheating? :)
