Abbey had been asking Mike to come to lunch w/her at school. She told us "lots of parents do it". So Mike planned a day he could take off of work. He scheduled it weeks ahead of time. Then when the week finally came Ab said, "Mom you are coming too aren't you"? Well I was trying not to show how hurt I was that I had never been able to go for a school lunch and that Mike was able to go. I quickly called for a babysitter. I did not want to miss this. Or should I say be left out:) I wonder if Mike was a bit bummed I was invited as well. But none of the kids in class had both parents come in at the same time. So Mike and I were extremely excited to go together and honored that she wanted us to be seen w/her. She was actually proud of us and showed us off.

Mike had talk walk w/her to the lunchroom to get our trays. Then I met them and we ate in her classroom w/her and her teacher. I had just come from a fitting for a fashion show I was in and was running super late. So I missed standing in the cafeteria line, but theres always next year and 2 more kids:)

Here is Abbey's desk. I love it! Some of her books and her pencil bunny. The kids each had different animals. Her favorite subject in first grade was math.
They also kept their supplies in a cloth organizer on the back of their chairs. One of Ab's favorite parts was switching around desk in the classroom. Getting to sit by new kids was fun although she was upset about never getting to be a row leader.
One of Abbey's favorite school lunches. We would pack her a lunch almost everydayy except for fridays. Every friday is pizza day at school. Plus we got a brownie with our pizza that day. Our fave! The school actually serves very healthy lunches. Which puts my mind at on the days she wants to buy:)
