Back TO School! ~8/18

Mike got off work early to go to "Back to School Night" w/us. He felt so proud walking his girls in. After all, this was his school first.
Mike's first grade teacher is also Abbey's first grade teacher. Is that cool or what? Seems crazy to me but it's not abnormal here.
Mrs. N showing the girls a book Abbey will use this year.

Who ME?
Of Course, Abbey had to visit her kindergarten teacher. Their theme this year is "welcom to the Jungle". Mrs. V caught a grasshopper and hung it, in a net, from the ceiling. She is so fun.
Abbey's desk neighbor. J-he came from another school this year. God must have put him next to Abb on purpose. She is so inclusive of others. She's caring and concerned w/their feelings. I wanted to show you the other Abby in class but didn't feel appropriate in doing so. This year the class is alphebatized by first name. ABBEY S. is first. She loves it. I knew that the 'E' in her name would be worth all the hassle:)
LOVING IT! I am trying to soak up every moment in their lives. Including this huge life change/adjustment for our family.

Look who's bossing sissies around.
We had supper after meeting w/Abbeys teacher and seeing her room. We got to mingle w/other families. I am proud of this school and feel a sense of privelage and responsibility. We are grateful for our kids education so far.

The kids and I were so revved up after the dinner we wanted to do something fun. Poor daddy wanted to go home to relax but he willingly abliged us. We opted for Cold Stone and Starbucks. YEAH!

The older girls always get sprinkles and gummies. They remind me of Ryan and when he'd top his ice cream w/them. I cannot understand why anyone would choose them, they turn so hard.
So I decided to split w/Cam. The BAtter's Bowl. It included fudge, brownies and sprinkles. Perfect for the 2 of us. No hard bears.
I love how excited Cammi gets about everything right now. I mean everything. When Mike gets home the girls and I are always so delighted and relieved. SO they yell "Daddy's Home"!! OVer and over. Cam has associated those words w/ being Happy. Whenever she get's excited about anything including Ice Cream she screams. "MINE" w/a smile and "DADDY's HOME!!
HE went out on a limb this time and tried Sweet Cream.
Buddies! They've hung like this since birth. He would hold her as a new born, late at night (as late as 1am) , and watch baseball. Abbey and I would go to sleep. We refer to them as "THE NIGHT OWLS". The rest of us are "THE EARLY BIRDS".
