Lights, Cabinets, & MORE PAINT! -8/02

Me & My girls inside the H.V. Hardware. We can shop then hit their cappi & slushy machine. My perfect set-up. In our matching "High School Musical Shirts" that grandma Dianne made for us:) We love them, you can't tell in the photo but they are all SPARKLY.
I am debating about this chandelier for over my dining room table. Drum shades are so in right now. And of course I love the dangly crystals. I may have to invest in a better camera so you can really see the details.
I LOVE THESE!!!! I found them on my shopping trip w/beth and the girls last night. I previously had my eye on chairs from marshalls but they were all sold out. I found these more formal once and t.j. maxx and SNATCHED them up!!!!
They will sit in my more formal living room. Now imagine gray walls, these chairs w/ a leather couch and suprise, SHIMMERY GOLD CURTAINS. I wanted to include a photo but Mike has had my camera all week. SO it's now or Never.
ANd I purchased this table for my foryer!!! I was trying to take this photo fast as the salesman was waiting on me and my girls were completely embarrased. I was so stressed I forgot to snap a pic of Mikes leather club chair for his office.
Cammi sitting in the sawdust and playing with it.
Now bothered by the fact it sticks to sweaty feet:)
My cutie pie! Em, the one who ALWAYS has to go to the bathroom.
Me Exhausted again. Suprised??? I move this chair from room to room now and give directions from where I sit:)
Mike went to the KraftMaid wearhouse and purchased my Kitchen cabinets for a deal. At the time he was unsure of their fit. Here he is analyzing. We both tend to over analyze, me more so. But I liked them right away and that was good enough for him. Let's install and move on. Now I just need to order my glass front doors! This route was MUCH cheaper. But most people would have to pay a carpenter for the labor and finegling of materials. Not me, Mike is an artist w/wood as his canvas!
Abbey loves to have fun!! Here she has the tape measure down below she got a hold of my camera.
Rearranging my base cabinets to my liking. There are pros to my over-analyzing. I know how I work my kitchen and where I would like/need to store my tools and ingredients. Most of the time you just put your stuff wear it works best but I am so blessed to be able to put my cabinets where they work best!! I can't wait to cook and bake!!!!! WHoo-Hoo. And STORE my stuff. Appliances, dry ingredients, pots & pans. I often say the Kitchen is MY office! I spend most of my waking time in this one area. Seriously w/small kids. Plus We are putting in 2 bar areas and eventually my pre-teens will do homework here.:) Not to mention my love for entertaining!!!!!!
Ok so this is the guest bath. I was envisioning a black cabinet as opposed to the over used pedistal sink. After 2 years in an apartment and 2 fixer-upper houses I will implement ALL the storage I can.!! Well, at the KraftMaid store Mike came across this for $100.00. What a deal. Plus You may not be able to see but the left is a cabinet and the right has 3 drawers, even cooler!! Don't worry this is NOT the final color, Only the primer. I will throw-back and add wall-paper! In a brown pattern.
HEre is where Abbey becomes the photographer. "Nice"! But I included this shot of Cammi's gorgeous hair. LOVE IT! SHE LOVES HER DADDY!
Grandpa Reuben. He has worked on a big portion of our house. He applied the trim, Made our staircase (which i haven't posted yet-only the rough stairs are showing), our living room built-in bookcases, and hung all our doors. Thank You Grandpa Reuben.
Mike and I "visuals" sketching out a plan for our kitchen island. We had previously determined this but He needed to tape it to scale on the floor. Another perk to self building I can scrap an idea any time I want. According to real life. My likes and dis-likes. I drew up what I wanted as my island, now Mike will work his magic. 1 standard base cabinet close to the sink, w/door fronts. Including a carved out space for my :) COOK BOOKS:) (so excited!!!) The other end will have 2 legs with 1 continuous counter top. That way I can put 3 stools underneath. It will serve as a small table or baking center for me and my girls.
Lookee what she has again. Surprise!
Emme always wanting to help and "be involved". Where does she get that from?? Here she is helping grandpa measure for the base in the dining room.
The saw set up in my bedroom. Again, remember who is weilding the camera.
The girl's bathroom. Great color huh?? W/ a pink fuzzy shower curtain and white beadboard and hooks. I plan on putting pink glass knobs on their bathroom cabinets.
A view from the top of our stairs. I love having a window in the stairwell. SO bright and airy. I feel so close to the outdoors. We have more friends in the allotment across the field than we do in our own. So funny that we can see their backyards from here.

Des, What a blessing this entry is. I think she is a special person also, and I have always been thankful that you and her are friends. Amazing how God does that for us. Amazing how if it is a good relationship it will not matter where you live, or how often you don't talk, because you will always know that there is someone out there who loves you and accepts you for who you are. I love you. A>K>
