I often find myself preoccupied w/...Myself. Or rather my thoughts.
Whenever I am studying a topic, my brain is often hovering over my life, within the subjects context. This is normally the way God teaches me. Or trains me if you will. Say I am studying kindness I don't need to look for opportunities to be kind. They are always in my face because my mind is already in the mix of understanding kindness. (Sort of like when you buy a new car and suddenly you see them everywhere. They were most likely always on the road only now you have awareness of them, constantly:) Now, realize I rarely get a break. Due to the facts that I am either studying or God is blatantly trying to show me something in my life that is unpleasing to Him.
2 topics I have been studying recently are:
A)Ephesians
B)Parenting
I say all of that to build, a-hah, the context!:) Ok. Keep in mind A&B.
After an extremely loooong day of volunteering at the Flea market in the HOT SUN W/ all, yes count them, 3 of my children , I am exhausted! No exhausted doesn't explain how I feel. How about drained of energy, thought or concern. Ok, Now. Bathing my girls and going about our routine, our very NORMAL routine they slacked off a bit. Each girl knows what is expected of them (Ephesians) and is well qualified to accomplish her task. Then you add to the chaos of unpacking groceries, grabbing a snack/drink, taking/giving baths and kicking aside moving boxes I am expected to be (ugh-um) a GOOD EXAMPLE. Even in my state of being. (How worn-out am I at this point?).
This is what is running through my mind. "Be a godly, quiet example. Do as I do girls, not as I scream:). Just get through this moment and you can take a nap. They're only little kids, they don't begin to understand the magnitude of putting on and carrying off a fund-raiser on a holiday weekend!"
And I was. Patient:) I spoke calmly, thoroughly and directly. But here is the bottom-line. I SOUND LIKE A BROKEN RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
Remember my paradigm. "TRAIN, (training people, training is not instananeous) a child in (what??) the WAY that he(in this case she:) SHOULD (this is where my example comes into play-the how part) go,
And when (yeah-when) SHE IS OLDER, SHE WIIILLLLL NOT TURN FROM IT." (so you're sayin' there's a chance?- Jim Carey).
Older, not necessarily at tomorrows bath time.
But there is a point to all this madness. Me leading, working so hard, and biting my tongue off.
~HALLELUJAH!!!!!!~
I have a goal: Responsible, kind, God-fearing women. Now what??? Well God wants to start w/me. (Ephesians again:)walking my talk:)
Now, the previous thought process is expected from me. But what came next was the laughable part. I was caught completely off guard by myself!!!!!
My analyticalness couldn't pass this up as a post. Because in the moment, instead of being angry I chuckled right out loud. At my record playing yet again!!
And I decided since we are all human, you are probably somewhere right now, training others (maybe a pet) and hearing your own record play. And that led me to thinking.
"WHAT IS YOUR BROKEN RECORD"? YES, I want to know. We are not alone here!!!
Since we're sharing I'll start:
THE BIGGEE AT OUR HOUSE: 1)Choose to serve and not be served!!!!
2)(ywam)leave it better girls, than you found it.
3)We do not shortcut, that is stealing & lying.
4)Did you brush your teeth? Let me smell your breath then:)
5)You owe me a ticket..... For leaving your wet towel on the floor. For not putting your clothes IN the hamper, etc........ but those are the most bothersome to me:)
6)Take responsibility for your own actions!!!!!
7)Yes I am talking to you and I KNOW YOU COULD HERE ME:)
8)IS YOUR SEAT BELT BUCKLED????
9)We don't hit in this house, WE USE BIG PEOPLE WORDS TO BE UNDERSTOOD. (psst. we made a talking stick= i stole that idea from my mom, my girls lOooove it:)
10)AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!!!! "WHO"S THE BOSS???" Then we proceed to go down the line of hierarchy!!
I love even round numbers so there you have it. The top 10 that rolled right off my brain, therefore must be the most accessible. I excluded the most repeated sanitary rules for all of our sake:)!
Leave me a Comment. Peace out!
Ok. now I am feeling exposed..... so you had BETTER leave me a quick thought!!!
Love ya' peeps.
p.s. After making dinner I had to add these 2. They were feeling quite left out.
1-Quickly. Quickly! Quickly, Please!!!
2-"Do all things w/out whining & complaining". (I forget the reference, but next to "who's the boss?" this comes in a close 2nd.:) Followed by Serving others:)

My "broken records":
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
Wellll...What did you expect would happen?
Apples and Oranges! (ask Chris)
"If 3 people call you a donkey...buy a saddle..."
"You can put your boots in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits."
"You can stand in your garage all day, but that don't make you a car!"
(Previous two references relate to the differnece in being a "believer" and someone who goes to church)
"I'll give you something to cry about". (ask Chris on this one too)
"No, I have not seen your glasses....wait, here they are...."
"did the girlz call you today?"
"did you bring the tide?"
